Palliative medicine and supportive care is a medical specialty focusing on comfort care and provides support and education to individuals and families who are facing serious or chronic illness. Pathways focuses on you as a whole person, taking the time to provide information, resources and services developed around what is most important to you and your family. Rather than just treating symptoms, we learn about you…how you want to live, what you want to do, and what kind of assistance is the most helpful. Pathways program provides the kind of information and education needed for good decision making.
Any patient with a serious illness. Patients who need and benefit from this service often have serious, chronic or life-limiting illness or injury. However, patients do not have to be considered terminally or irreversibly ill to receive these services.

Palliative and supportive medicine is not the same as hospice care. Patients seen by the Pathways team are often still receiving treatments designed to treat their serious illness or injury.
